Google readies “Google Offers” Groupon clone:
This is a bad news for all great deals website! Google arrive in the fashionable world of dealing with all and everything. Does matter who you are : shop of games, of wine, an hotel, a restaurant, a wine sellers those site permit you to sell at very less price and acquiert some visibility.Their credo propose some offer at very interesting prices on them websites and taking some money of your selling. In fact you did win a lot because you sell at half of the price and you paid a commission but you win visibility this is the goal! You win a little bit and they win a lot!
Leader on this market segment are website as : Groupon, letrader.fr...
How they operate?
By Newsletter very frequently, precisly everyday with new offers. Doesn't matter where you lived they have partnership everywhere and know precisly wich offer could interested you!
Today it exist more than 100 companies on this segment, but the arrival of the giant google is a very bad news. In effect google proposed more than 6 billions of dollards for the actual leader Groupon. This operation failed unfortunatly (some people said that Groupon director could make more money in 1 year than the google offer.... True or false we don't know!) and google have decided to create his own offers!
To me, on a client way I think that it is very good because you paid less and discover some activities or products that you never imagine the existance.
On a professional, you have to be really carreful with thoses website because they didn't permit you to win money just bring you some visibility but does it is really visibility? People discover you but does next time they will paid the price mugging? That the question!
To conclude you have to be very carreful with those type of offer when you are the seller, and being sure of your product. In hospitality I think that using thoses website is not a good idea, use more specialized website with a real visibility and managed you image because people are more and more requiring!

I agree with you Edouard, It seems like a bad news. As a user also, I think everybody has to becareful of that kind of website.
